These Shortcuts – which largely duplicate the alpha-numeric links at the top and bottom of each page – open specific pages using key presses (use upper or lower case for alphabet keys). If the appointed page doesn't open, refresh the current page and try again. Keyboard Shortcuts do not work on the Firefox browser.
In the hope of making these shortcuts memorable, most have a connection-of-sorts with the pages they open, e.g: L for London, T for Thomas Trotter, Y for Yorkshire, 7 for Next 7 Days, 5 for Wales (there being five letters in Wales; similarly, Scotland is 8). Also, note the pairs of brackets for 'mirror' regions, i.e. south west/east, west/east midlands, north west/east.
Even if the page you want does not have its own link, another one may be close to it, e.g. for recitals at Westminster Abbey, click on "W" to open the Westminster Cathedral page and use the previous venue arrow to navigate to the Westminster Abbey page.
