ALEXANDER WOODROW

Born in York in 1986, Alexander Woodrow was appointed to the Organ Scholarship at Guildford Cathedral in September 2007. He read music at Magdalene College, Cambridge, as Organ Scholar, studying with Anne Page. Whilst at Cambridge, he gave recitals in the chapels of Emmanuel, Magdalene, Pembroke, St John's and King's Colleges.

Alexander gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists at the age of 19, winning first prizes in all categories, including the coveted Limpus Prize. He was subsequently awarded the Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. Organ Recitals have taken him to numerous venues within this country, including cathedrals at York, Ripon, Coventry, Southwark and Blackburn.

He takes up a similar appointment at St Albans Cathedral in September 2008.
